The NIH Library provides NIH staff with full access to UpToDate, a clinical decision support tool that helps healthcare professionals make accurate, up-to-date diagnoses and treatment decisions at the point of care. Created by doctors for doctors, it offers over 12,000 peer-reviewed topics, medical calculators and drug interactions, and is available via web and mobile apps. UpToDate features extensive solutions; recent updates to the system include:
- Expanded Continuing Medical Education (CME) options, including direct submission to additional specialty and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) boards
- More detailed drug dosing guidance for vulnerable patient populations
- Gene test interpretation monographs
- Graphical summaries to support rapid clinical decision-making
Access
Go to UpToDate while on the NIH network/VPN to start using it. For additional features, register (see next step) for a personal UpToDate account:
