Pay-by-Foot Machine at MLP-11 Gateway Visitor Garage

We are excited to introduce the Pay-by-Foot Machine that promises to enhance convenience and efficiency at the MLP-11 Gateway Visitor Garage. As customers enter the garage, they will take a parking ticket which contains key information such as the entry date, time, entrance identification and parking lot identification. A customer uses this entry ticket at either the Pay-by-Foot Machine or an exit to initiate the parking transaction payment. If the Pay-by-Foot Machine is used to pre-pay before exiting, the customer must use the paid ticket at the exit, allowing the customer to leave the garage. The pay station accepts cash, debit and credit cards. Paying at the exit will remain an option.

This payment option is available for visitors Monday through Friday, 7:00 am through 11:00 pm, with no changes in the parking fees. For reference, the hourly rates are:

  • $2.00 for the first hour
  • $4.00 for the first two (2) hours
  • $6.00 for the first three (3) hours
  • Beyond three hours is considered “all day," which costs $12.00.

Parking validation stamps will continue to be accepted and processed through the parking attendant at the cashier's booth. The parking garage will continue to be staffed with a parking attendant for operational questions.

If you have any questions or concerns about the payment option at MLP-11 or other transportation-related issues, please contact the Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS) at 301-827-3287.
