Serving the NIH Community

Because of a lapse in government funding, the information on this website may not be up to date, transactions submitted via the website may not be processed, and the agency may not be able to respond to inquiries until appropriations are enacted. The NIH Clinical Center (the research hospital of NIH) is open. For more details about its operating status, please visit cc.nih.gov. Updates regarding government operating status and resumption of normal operations can be found at opm.gov.

Parking Permit Reminder

If your NIH parking permit expired during the recent furlough, please take a moment to renew it as soon as possible. Expired permits may result in delays, parking restrictions or receiving a parking ticket when returning to campus.

Employees can renew their permits through the NIH Commuting and Parking Services Member Portal or by visiting the Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS), NIH Parking Office, located in Building 45, Room 1AF03. Please check your permit's expiration date to ensure uninterrupted access.

Important Reminder: Disability parking on the NIH campus requires a Gold Hanger permit. Standard disability placards alone are not sufficient for parking in designated ADA spaces on campus. If you need a Gold Hanger or have questions about eligibility, please contact DATS, NIH Parking Office, at nihparkingoffice@nih.gov for assistance.
