ORS Staff Making an Impact in the Quest for Equality for All

The 2020-2022 Federally Employed Women's Bethesda Chapter Executive Board was recently announced by the DC Metro Region of Federally Employed Women (FEW). ORS' own Tammie Edwards, Medical Arts Branch Chief and Bonita Smith, Business Services Branch Chief were elected Vice President and Treasurer respectively.  Ms. Edwards is also the FEW DC Metro Region Women's Health and Wellness Chair since 2019. The FEW Bethesda Chapter is led by newly elected President, Bridgette Green, Program Specialist, currently working in the NIH Clinical Center.

Federally Employed Women (FEW) is an organization of inclusion and diversity with a focus on federal women concerns and equality for all. Membership equips its members with skillsets and knowledge that benefit not only the individual, but also the agency.  DC Metro Regional Manager, Pamela H. Richards stated "it is truly an honor and a privilege to extend my heartfelt felicitations to the new leadership of the Bethesda Chapter of Federally Employed Women.  I want to say thank you for your commitment, your professionalism and unwavering support to the Region, as well as, the national organization." Pamela H. Richards went on to say, "I know you all will continue to soar to new heights." 

The goals set forth by the newly elected FEW Bethesda Chapter leadership is geared toward increasing outreach and education across the NIH, spreading awareness of the opportunities for training, networking, mentoring and much more.  An open house is planned for mid-March where the Executive Board will be formally installed and Ms. Richards will be the guest speaker. Membership Committee Chair, Joy Jackson Farrar, ORS Events Management, will also host several table events across campus providing information about FEW and the advantages of membership.
