On Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22, the NIH will celebrate Car Free Day with the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments (WMCOG).
Car Free Day is an international event that encourages people to avoid using cars while highlighting the benefits of bicycling, mass-transit, walking, and alternative modes of transportation. Carpooling, vanpooling and telework also count.
Have you considered taking Metro, a bus, biking, or walking to work? What about starting a carpool or vanpool with coworkers? Car Free Day is the perfect time to explore your commuting options and try out a new one.
The Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS) challenges you to find alternative ways to get to work and pledge to go 'car free' on September 21 and 22!
Take the pledge and register with the WMCOG at: http://carfreemetrodc.org.
By signing, you show that NIH encourages health through walking, bicycling, and using alternative modes of transportation that are healthy and good for the environment.
