NIH Mission First Safety Always Award Returns in 2021

The Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS) wants to salute the professionals who are making a difference in safety in their organizations. This award, called the "Mission First Safety Always" Award, recognizes those who demonstrate leadership, innovation and involvement in their organization's safety culture.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NIH Mission First Safety Always Award was cancelled for year 2020, but it is back. Please reflect on the past few years and consider all the hard work done to keep the NIH a safe and productive workplace.  Which of your co-workers really stand out as a safety champion? Is there a co-worker who deserves a little extra acknowledgement for their contributions? If so, nominate your colleague for the Mission First Safety Always Award today.

Nominations for the NIH Mission First Safety Always Award for 2021 will open on August 15, 2021 and close on December 31, 2021 at 11:59 pm.

Guidelines:

  • The nominee must be an NIH employee, contractor or special government employee.
  • Nominations must come from an individual other than the person being considered.
  • Nominations submitted before or after the dates mentioned will not be considered.
  • We love everything people have done in slowing the spread of COVID-19 at the NIH. We want those nominations.  But remember, we are more than COVID-19, so we want those nominations too.
  • On or after August 15, 2021, please find the nomination form in the Events section of the DOHS website.
  • If you have questions, please contact the DOHS at 301-496-2960 or glassjac@nih.gov.
