NED and nVISTAS Data Integration

The Division of International Services (DIS) is working with NIH Enterprise Directory Team (NED) and Center for Information Technology (CIT) to implement a new interface between DIS's internal system, NIH Visiting Scientists Tracking Automation System (nVISTAS) and NED. The purpose of this collaboration is to ensure that key foreign national data, which DIS staff enter in nVISTAS, automatically updates in NED. Currently, DIS Immigration Specialists manually enter the same key data in both systems and reconcile it periodically to ensure consistency. This results in intensive duplicate manual efforts which the interface with automatic updates will eliminate.
