At Eurest, we're proud to partner with the NIH community in advancing wellness through our Food with Purpose program. Developed by passionate dietitians and chefs, this initiative offers nutrient-rich menu options, sources sustainable ingredients and actively works to lessen carbon emissions and reduce waste.

Did you know our team meticulously tracks production to cut down on food waste? Each menu is crafted using scaled recipes that balance variety with responsibility.

We leverage Waste Not 2.0, a powerful platform that helps us measure daily food waste, identify its type, and pinpoint its destination. After every meal service, our team records this data to ensure transparency and drive improvement.

From February to May 2026, we tracked the kinds of waste produced, aiming for most of it to fall into the “green" category of trim, bones, and shells, those unavoidable leftovers. This detailed tracking empowers us to make smarter, more sustainable choices every day.

Eurest is committed to recycling and recovery. Since 2021, Eurest has proudly participated in NIH's Food Scraps Recycling Program. In February-May 2026 alone, over 38% of waste was composted.

Looking ahead, we're excited to introduce Careit to the NIH campus, a food recovery platform that will help us safely donate surplus food to local organizations, making a difference in our community and keeping valuable food out of landfills.
