Remote Fingerprinting for Badge Access

FieldPrint is a remote fingerprint capability using Crossmatch machines. The Division of Personnel Security and Access Control (DPSAC) offers this option for remote locations that may be more accommodating than NIH offices. This option should be used if applicants are more than 50 miles from an NIH badging facility and need to submit fingerprints for their prescreening or e-QIP background investigation. Please note that Crossmatch and FieldPrint services cannot be used to satisfy the individual's PIV/RLA Enrollment requirement, as FieldPrint is not an NIH badging facility. If Crossmatch/FieldPrint was used to obtain fingerprinting for Prescreening, the individual will still need to complete their PIV/RLA Enrollment at an NIH Enrollment and Badging Facility once authorized in order to be issued their PIV/RLA badge.

For any further questions regarding FiledPrint, feel free to contact ORSFingerprintService@mail.nih.gov or call 301-402-9755. Here are the instructions for how an applicant can use FieldPrint:

1. Send an email to ORSFingerprintService@mail.nih.gov, and ask to be set up with instructions for the FieldPrint service.

2. A representative from DPSAC will reply within one (1) business day. Please follow the email instructions. Setting up your FieldPrint appointment is quick and easy.

3. Once you attend your fingerprinting appointment, your fingerprints will be transmitted to DPSAC and automatically attached to your case approximately three (3) business days after they are collected.  Afterwards, DPSAC will contact you when it is time to come in to get enrolled.

Please note: fingerprints collected through FieldPrint are only used for pre-screening, not enrollment. Enrollment will require you to visit an NIH badging facility to provide your fingerprints so they can be officially tied to your badge. You will be able to find a list of our badging facilities under our Contact Page.  Thank you!
