DPS Expands Operating Hours for Select NIH Off Campus PIV Card Issuance Facilities (PCIFs) within the Washington D.C. Metro

Recently, the NIH Division of Personnel Security (DPS) main office (Building 31, Room 1B03) located on the main campus in Bethesda, MD updated its operating hours to 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (closed from 12:00PM to 1:00PM on the last Thursday of every month for staff training sessions and events).
 
Since Monday, August 10, 2026, a selection of NIH PIV Card Issuance Facilities (PCIFs) within the Washington/Baltimore Metro Area have also expanded their operating hours to accommodate customers.

  • NIH Main Campus Building 10 (Clinical Center, North and South Lobby)
    Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (closed 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM)
    Address: 10 Center Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892

  • Shady Grove Campus in Rockville, MD
    Days of Operation: Mondays and Fridays only
    Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (closed 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM)
    Address: 9609 Medical Center Drive, Rockville, MD, 20850

  • National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Rockville, MD
    Days of Operation: Tuesdays and Wednesdays only

Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (closed 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM)

  • Bayview Biomedical Research Center in Baltimore, MD
    Days of Operation: Thursdays only
    Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (closed 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM)

To see a full list of PCIFs, visit the DPS Contact page. Please note: All DPS locations will continue to be closed on federal holidays and follow U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidance for weather related closures or delays.

During operating hours, DPS customers may receive help desk assistance as well as credentialing support (e.g., badge enrollment, fingerprinting, badge issuance and badge maintenance). Customers are recommended to make appointments with DPS during operating days and hours. While walk-ins may be accepted based on availability, DPS will give priority to individuals with scheduled appointments.
