"Bike to Work" Day Update 2021

The NIH Bicycle Commuter Club (NIHBCC) and the Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS) have proudly hosted "Bike to Work" Day (BTWD) for many years in front of Building 1.  The NIH has historically led the National Capital Region (NCR) as the employer with the most participants for the event. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic and in the interest of safety, NIH will not host BTWD this year nor host a Pit Stop this year.

The Council of Governments will host pit stops across the NCR on a smaller scale on May 21 with significant COVID safety protocols. Any NIH employee or community member who plans to commute to work by bicycle that day can still register for the event. Please visit https://www.biketoworkmetrodc.org/ to register with a Pit Stop that is closest to your home or worksite.

Please remember to adhere to all safety and health protocols, maintain physical distancing and wear facial covering where appropriate or required.

If you have any questions about participating in Bike to Work Day please contact Sean Cullinane; sean.cullinane@nih.gov or 301-496-4998.
