FAES is a nonprofit organization founded in 1959 by a group of NIH scientists with a mission of seeking and applying fundamental knowledge in the biomedical sciences. Since its formation, FAES Academic Programs has been providing quality and innovative education to the NIH community and beyond.

  1. Asynchronous Online Courses: Learn new skills on your own time with 7-week courses instructed by dedicated faculty with course material released in weekly modules.
  2. Live Online or In Person Workshops: Add to your current skillset with live online or in person one or multi-day workshops taught by experts in their fields.
  3. Expansive Range of Topics: Programming includes a wide range of materials such as bioinformatics, math, statistics, immunology, neuroscience, genetics, project management, leadership, public health, English and Spanish language, and more.
  4. Free Educational Webinar Series: Join us for a free monthly webinar covering exciting tops such as AI in Your Lab.
  5. Virtual Information Sessions: Learn more about our programming at our virtual information sessions How to take advantage of FAES Academic Programming:

  2. Register: View our currently available courses and workshops and add your choices to your cart.
  3. Check Out: Apply your NIH discount and either pay at the time of purchase or create an invoice to be submitted to your lab.
  4. Get Funded: If you are a self-funded learner, you may apply for our FAES scholarship or view our guide for requesting training funds for templates and guidance on requesting training funds from your lab.
