22nd Annual DIS Immigration Conference for Administrative Staff

22nd Annual DIS Immigration Conference for Administrative Staff

The Division of International Services (DIS) hosted the 22nd Annual Immigration Conference for Administrative Staff on May 7-9, 2024. The conference featured nine sessions, each presented twice, covering topics such as NIH policy, the DIS Customer Portal, and more. DIS welcomed almost 400 attendees from the NIH, FDA and other government organizations to discuss immigration-related topics integral to the recruitment and retention of international scientists. Thank you to everyone who attended! We look forward to hosting you again next year.

We were also excited to welcome our guest presenters: Philip Wang, Associate Director, Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE), and Philip Ryan, Director, Graduate Partnerships Program (GPP), who joined the “Working with Students" presentation to provide wonderful insight into the GPP process; and Emily King, Kay Menk and Kaytlyn Menk who led the “Managing a Visiting Program Caseload: Perspectives from the Field" session to offer tips and tricks on handling requests for international scientists at NIH. We are pleased that these guest speakers so graciously offered their time to share their tremendous insight and expertise.
