The 10th Annual NIH Take a Hike Day will be held Thursday, June 8, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm in front of Building 1. Join invited representatives from the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General and the Executive Director of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition in this annual tradition.
All NIH staff are invited to walk or run around the perimeter of the NIH campus (approximately 3.25 miles) rain or shine. In addition to the main campus, there will also be Take a Hike Day activities at various off campus locations.
In its 10th year, Take a Hike Day is the NIH’s largest fitness and wellness event. This event is part of the “Spring into Wellness” campaign to support your physical wellbeing. It also supports White House initiatives promoting a healthier federal workforce and the U.S. Surgeon General’s call to action in support of walking and walkable communities.
Registration opened May 11. To register and learn additional information, please visit the Office of Research Services (ORS), Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS) at: https://www.ors.od.nih.gov/wellness.
